My Treatment Style
Our time together will depend entirely upon your needs and goals. If pain is a major experience for you, we will begin with what I call "putting out the fire" while gently restoring pain-free movement. This often involves manual care along with education about your condition and what to expect during your arc of recovery. Sometimes this involves a short term reduction in pain generating activities, while keeping you as active as possible, to allow for healing and best long-term outcomes.
My Favorite Parts of theVisit:

1. Listening to you first priority each visit. How are you at this point in your recovery? What factors may have contributed to your needs today? If you are improving, we move forward in your treatment plan. If there was a set back since our last visit ("the wheels fell off the bus"), we learn from it together and address the pain or limitations as they present today. Sometimes it's a combination of the two.

2. Assessment: I get to look at how you are moving or how the joints and muscles feel manually. Or, I may check strength, or repeat any previously positive special tests to guide the direction of the visit.

3. Then we do an intervention together: this can include manual care, techniques to relax or free up tissue, agility or movement patterns, drills to improve coordination, etc. Endless Possibilities!

4. After the intervention, we reassess after the intervention to see how it worked. We are continuously learning and adapting your care together.

5. Lastly, we update your homework that is specifically designed to help you integrate the progress we made this visit and to help you meet your overall goals. What you do between visits dramatically enhances the speed and success of your recovery.
